Why is it America gets only the huge engine versions – never anything vaguely economical to drive? 316ti, 1.8l engine gets 53mpg, you know it makes sense. Hassle your dealers – get the good stuff imported!

They also soak up the bumps well, and are solid and very well composed over imperfections. The seats are firm, yes, but they are supportive, and the leather is durable.

However. Having said all that I will tell you right now that for the money the Cadillac CTS is a much better option.

Extremely reliable, some cooling issues, some minor electrical issues. If you can’t do some repairs yourself be prepared for some heavy labor fees. The parts aren’t what get ya its the dirty mechanics that will charge you 100+ a hour labor. Great fuel economy, its awesome to be seen in a BMW and it will last you forever.

just got one. It is amazing. I live in Canada with lots of frost broken roads. Still very comfortable, but handling is the best. GET THE 330i with a manual transmission.

For someone who is used to plush seats, I really liked the 3 series. BMW seats are designed to be more supportive and firm than real soft, but they are very comfortable. Fun to drive car, everything just seems to be in easy reach, very smooth shifter and all. overall great car, I loved it!
