@Beeblebrox247 I am not sure like 3 sedan did not grow on anybody. Was ugly and even now with refreshed bumpers still looks like crap. I would definitely not replace my E60 with this one. Maybe it is time for 6 :)

I am not talking about quad (4) pipes, just 2, like the ones it currently has just not bunched together in one side of the bumper…I am talking about having them separated. I might not make sense for a 4 cylinder, but it does for a 6 cyl, and even so, in this case, cosmetic appeal > minor engineering efficiency. Im sure 99% of the customers are NOT thinking, “gee BMW is so smart to have efficiently bunched those together like a ford focus…” Anybody that does some market research knows that.

YOU DO NOT OWN A BMW!!!

    This is just a fine example of design that follows performance;
why would you have two seperate tailpipes on:
    a 20(d) engine, a 25(d) engine, or even a 30(d) engine.
This just isn’t necessary, maybe it is for the 35(d) engine, because it features a more racy turbo’d inline-6, but come on, not on a freaking 4 cylinder or an ordinary inline-6 with barely 200bhp. Okay, it looks better, but you’re not fooling anyone.
But hey buddy, what’s this argument about, everybody has a different taste ! :)

they’re not sporty nor refine. Sporty tailpipes? look at an infiniti, look at the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class it will be competing with, those have sporty dual separate tailpipes…what has tailpipes like the 5 series? a Kia…a 1 series, a 3 series…a corolla…what has separated tailpipes? A lexus, a Mercedes, a Ferrari, an Infiniti, a Jaguar. If you can distinguish that, then you are as stupid as the American Auto maker.

So this is not E no more Like the E34 E39 E60.
    they gonna call it F10?

But this is more like a 3 series XL,almost the same way VW did the passat XL aka Phaeton

I have mixed feelings about this and kinda seen this coming when BMW redesigned the 3 series(doesn’t look bad at all) and figured that they wouldn’t leave well enough alone and do something off for the 5 series. I’ll have to actually see this in person before I make snap judgment. Hopefully the M5 will have more of a visual difference than the E60 did from the rest of the line up, speaking of, is this new 5 series still gonna get a M5?

IT’S A BEAUTY! The same whining was heard about the previous 5-series when it was presented. It will grow on you, just like the E60 did.

I dont like it at all it is extremely ugly… what a shame.. I rather have my 3 series than this.. It dosent even look like it belongs to BMW

BMW isn’t some stupid American car maker.
These tailpipes are sporty, yet refined, typical BMW.
Unlike most American cars that go by the motto:
    The bigger, the better.

is this a joke? is bmw trying to hit bankrupcy? i dont think that bmw factory even cares about the buyers anymore, i think that they are just going with what they feel is right, and they are WRONG on this one!

yep, the car industry is going down…i’m thinking how the m5 will look…all the new cars look like stupid spacecrafts…i don’t know if the m5 will look as good as the old one…if you look from the side at this car the front end looks like shit…fuck the future cars

  23. karmahunden

    21. May, 2010

is it so freaking hard to add two separate tailpipes and not to joint ones like a freaking mazda 3….oh wait…even mazda separated their two tailpipes. BMW needs to wake up and smell the coffee in a few things…seriously…we’re talking about a 5 series here.

Yes, that’s the parking light. That means that only the lights on one side (left or right) are on, the lights on the other side are off. The sense of this is to preserve others cars crashing into you if you have to park somewhere on the side of a street in the dark for a short spell.
